In FireBoy and WaterGirl, the two characters are immune to their own elements, but are quickly destroyed if exposed to their opposing element. There are other hazards, like green mud, that will destroy either character. Also, many levels have switches that must be held down by one character to open a door and allow the other to pass. Players must be able to think about their moves before starting the level, or they may get stuck and be forced to restart.

The goal of FireBoy & WaterGirl is to bring both characters to the end of each level while collecting as many gems as possible. Players use the arrow keys to control FireBoy, and the A, W and D keys to move WaterGirl around. Players can learn to move both characters simultaneously with a little practice. However, moving both characters at the same time requires that players keep close attention to where the characters are at all time, and what hazards are in their vicinity. Players who can learn to skillfully control both at once can complete levels faster, and get better level ratings, than those who move only one character at a time.

In this game, players take control of two characters at the same time (FireBoy and WaterGirl), collecting gems and getting past the many obstacles within the Forest Temple. Hazards consist of fire and water, so FireBoy and WaterGirl need to use their powers to help each other through each level. 

Players will need to think ahead and plan their way through each puzzling room in order to get them both safely to the exit. Reading is required to understand the instructions, but parents can easily help relay this information to their children. Your goal in these games is to get through each round with the help of another player, as every single round that you play of the game is two-player. You both have to make it from the beginning to the end. If one of you dies, then neither of you makes it. Read on for some tips and tricks for Fireboy and Watergirl in The Forest Temple Online!

If you play as Fireboy then you can walk through the lava lakes; if you play as Watergirl, then you can walk through the water lakes. Neither character can walk through the green lake, though, so don’t even try to walk through them or you will end up dying and making your teammate lose as well.

If you start a level and either win or lose and you want to be paired up with the same person again, then hit the restart button, and if they hit it too, you will be paired with them again. However, if you want a different person, then hit the main menu button instead and then restart the level.

Look out for switches that open doors that you need to get through, as well. One player needs to open the door by standing on the switch, while the other one needs to run through the open door. Once one of you runs through the door, step on the switch on the other side so that the other player can go through the door as well.

Make sure that you are in an area with a good internet connection. If you have a lousy connection, then you are going to have a lousy performance when you play. You should have at least three bars of LTE, or have cable wifi, in order for the connection with the other player to remain strong.

If, even after you have a good connection, you can’t get the game to work right, then shut the game down, and then open it back up. When you open the game back go to the level select screen again and open the level that you were trying to play, and it should work.
